New Jersey-born, Toronto-raised, an aspiring teacher turned communications student, leaving both education and The Great White North for the promise of sun and music in Los Angeles. Within a few months of his decision to pursue a music career, Jordan Benjamin started calling himself Grandson and writing songs that merged his interest in rap and rock with his need to speak up on the issues that mattered the most to him, repeatedly landing songs on the Billboard charts while telling stories about political corruption and police brutality.
